HUD AWARDS DWT $8.3M TO DEVELOP MANUFACTURED AFFORDABLE

HOUSING IN LINDALE TEXAS

Dance With Todd Inc (DWT) is overjoyed to announce the award of $8.3M in PRICE grant
funds to redevelop an existing mobile home community in Lindale, Texas for long term
affordable housing for both seniors and families.
 
On January 17, 2025, representatives from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD) as well as the DWT team gathered in Lindale for the official award

presentation.

HUD’s Office of Community Planning and Development awarded $225 million in Preservation
and Reinvestment Initiative for Community Enhancement (PRICE) competition. PRICE provides
historic first-time federal grants to support communities in their efforts to maintain, protect,
replace, and stabilize manufactured housing and manufactured housing communities. HUD
announced 17 winners with proposed activities benefiting communities across 26 states
including rural, suburban, urban, tribal and disaster impacted areas. The PRICE competition was
greatly oversubscribed. HUD received more than 175 applications for projects across 44 States
including Tribal communities. Local governments, states, Tribes, nonprofits, and other eligible
entities applied. For every $1 available in funding, $14 was requested from applicants.
 
The Cottages at Lindale is an existing mobile home community, located at 18957 Hwy 69N just
north of the Lindale city limits, is currently comprised of mostly obsolete mobile homes with
aging infrastructure. Under the PRICE grant, DWT will acquire the property, relocate the
existing families, install new infrastructure including upgraded water and sewer services,
upgraded electrical service, paved roadways, security lighting and fencing, as part of the
development of a new 35 unit affordable tiny home manufactured cottage community for senior
housing and offer homeownership opportunities to another 20 families as well on the site. DWT
is excited to partner with multiple local service providers to bring on-site supportive services to
the residents and do its part to address the affordable housing crisis in our country with 55 new
affordable housing units for the Lindale community. The project is expected to commence in

early 2025 and be complete by 2028.

Dance With Todd Inc is a 501c3 non-profit developer of affordable housing founded by Sherri
Sengsouvanna in honor of her son Todd. Ms. Sengsouvanna brings her extensive 35 years of
experience in affordable housing industry to lead this project and has assembled an outstanding
experienced team of housing experts to assist in the areas of construction, property management
and resident services as well.
